Assad Al-Nsasrah, a paramedic with the Palestine Red Crescent Society, went missing in late March during a violent incident in southern Gaza that claimed the lives of 15 humanitarian workers. The bodies of those killed – personnel from the Red Crescent, the U.N., and the Civil Emergency Service – were later discovered in a mass grave. Reports indicate that on March 23, 2025, marked emergency vehicles were fired upon, contributing to the tragic loss of life during an already volatile situation.
The International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) has confirmed that Nsasrah is currently in Israeli detention and noted the inability to visit Palestinian detainees since October 2023.
