On December 7, 2023, Governor Tony Evers signed legislation making personal finance education a graduation requirement for all Wisconsin high school students. This new mandate, effective for the class of 2028, accompanies Wisconsin's status as the 24th state to introduce a dedicated personal finance curriculum designed to enhance financial literacy among young adults.

The course will cover key topics such as money management, saving, investing, and understanding credit. By equipping students with these essential skills, the state aims to better prepare them for the financial challenges of adult life and instill responsible economic practices from an early age.
