A recent Tubi survey of 2,502 U.S. adults revealed that 84% of Gen Z workers have streamed shows and movies while working from home, with nearly half (48%) even lying to their bosses about it. The survey, highlighted in an Axios report published on March 28, 2025, also found that 53% of respondents have delayed work to finish a binge-watching session and 44% have continued using an ex-partner’s streaming login post-breakup.

These findings underscore the strong work-life balance priorities of Gen Z, who now spend an average of $129 per month on streaming services and cable—outspending their monthly expenditure on clothes ($109). Supplemental reports from The Wrap and Adweek further emphasize that streaming during work hours has become a common practice among this generation, reflecting shifting social trends and viewing habits in the modern workplace.
