Israel Bombs UNRWA Clinic in Gaza Refugee Camp, Killing 19 Palestinians

On April 2, Israel escalated its military operations over Gaza by striking a UNRWA clinic in the Jabalia refugee camp, resulting in the deaths of 19 Palestinians, nearly half of them children. The Israeli military claimed that the facility was being used as a Hamas command center. In addition to the clinic attack, strikes across Khan Younis and Rafah resulted in a total of 50 Palestinian fatalities that day.

Further complicating the situation, Israeli Defence Minister Israel Katz stated that the operations aim to eliminate terrorists and secure territory. At the same time, National Security Minister Itamar Ben Gvir made a provocative visit to the Temple Mount in Jerusalem, while Prime Minister Netanyahu traveled to Hungary to meet with Viktor Orbán despite facing an arrest warrant from the International Criminal Court over alleged war crimes in Gaza.
