Epirus, a Torrance-based defense technology startup, has raised $250 million in a Series D round, elevating its total funding to over $550 million. The fresh capital reinforces its status as a unicorn in the defense tech arena and supports the scaling of its Leonidas solid-state directed energy system, which is designed to neutralize unmanned systems with unmatched precision.
The funding round, co-led by 8VC and Washington Harbour Partners with participation from General Dynamics Land Systems, will fuel expansion into international and commercial markets, enhance supply chain resilience, and bolster talent recruitment. Additionally, plans are underway to open an immersive simulation center in Oklahoma by March 2025, providing advanced training environments for warfighters as Epirus continues to position itself at the forefront of modern defense technology.
