Nokia and Amazon have resolved their global patent litigation over streaming technologies, ending disputes involving alleged misuse of Nokia's streaming video technology on Amazon Prime Video and Twitch. The companies, which had clashed over licensing issues and countersuits in the U.S., have reached a settlement under confidential terms, culminating in a multi-year patent agreement.

The settlement follows a series of legal battles, including a notable German court ruling in February 2025 that found Amazon’s streaming services in violation of Nokia’s patent rights. This decision, along with earlier litigation developments throughout 2023 and 2024, set the stage for the final resolution reached on March 31, 2025.
