Phil Mickelson, who recently switched allegiances from the PGA Tour to LIV Golf, praised the new TGL indoor simulator league founded by Tiger Woods and Rory McIlroy. Speaking after the conclusion of its inaugural season on March 26, 2025, Mickelson emphasized the league's unique format that provides fans with a full view of the action—unlike traditional golf events.

In the championship final held at SoFi Center in Palm Beach Gardens, Florida, Atlanta Drive Golf Club overcame a sluggish start to secure a thrilling comeback victory over New York Golf Club. Led by Justin Thomas, Billy Horschel, and Patrick Cantlay, Atlanta Drive clinched the title and a $9 million purse. Mickelson’s support for TGL comes amid ongoing discussions between the PGA Tour and LIV Golf’s financier, Saudi Arabia's Public Investment Fund, about future collaborations or mergers.
