Cannes Film Festival Announces Star-Studded 2025 Lineup Featuring Ari Aster, Wes Anderson, and Spike Lee

The 78th Cannes Film Festival, scheduled for May 13-24, 2025, has unveiled an exciting slate of films that promises to captivate audiences worldwide. Headlining the competition, Ari Aster debuts with his film Eddington, Wes Anderson presents the quirky The Phoenician Scheme, and Richard Linklater offers a French-language piece titled Nouvelle Vague. Adding to the allure, Julia Ducournau returns with Alpha following her historic 2021 Palme d'Or win, and Spike Lee’s Highest 2 Lowest is set to premiere out of competition on May 19, with Denzel Washington in attendance.

The festival’s diverse lineup is further enriched by entries from renowned talents including the Dardenne brothers, Joachim Trier, and Jafar Panahi, as well as emerging voices from international cinema such as Spanish filmmakers Carla Simón and Oliver Laxe.
