San Francisco-based engineering software startup Rescale secured $115 million in venture funding on April 7, 2025, with key investments from Applied Materials and Nvidia. The fresh capital will be pivotal in integrating artificial intelligence into its simulation software, a tool already essential for designing complex products such as race cars and computer chips.
Traditionally, full-scale simulations have required about three days and significant computing power. With its innovative approach, Rescale is training AI models on simulation data to deliver predictions within seconds and with up to 98% accuracy, allowing engineers to explore a wider array of design options under tight deadlines. This funding round boosts Rescale’s total capital to over $260 million, with support from prominent backers including Atika Capital, Foxconn, Hitachi Ventures, and notable figures such as Sam Altman, Jeff Bezos, and Peter Thiel.
