Since Israel broke the ceasefire on March 18, Gaza has seen a steep rise in casualties with the death toll now exceeding 1,000. In the past two days alone, 80 new fatalities were reported, and the injured count has risen to 2,359. The intensifying violence has left Palestinians with few safe spaces, worsening an already dire humanitarian crisis.
Amid the mounting casualties, Israel’s orders to evacuate Rafah have further compounded the issues on the ground. Reports from April 1 indicate that among those killed were NGO workers, members of the Red Crescent, and UN staff. The Palestinian Ministry of Foreign Affairs has condemned these acts as war crimes, urging international accountability while warning of critical food shortages and the consequences of prolonged aid blockades.
