Nvidia has announced its plan to manufacture AI supercomputers and Blackwell chips in the United States, marking its first domestic production effort. The company has secured over one million square feet for production and testing facilities in Arizona and Texas, with operations beginning at TSMC’s Phoenix facility as of April 2025. Facilities for supercomputers are now under construction in Houston and Dallas by Foxconn and Wistron respectively, with additional partnerships formed with SPIL and Amkor for chip packaging and testing.

This strategic move is part of a broader initiative to build up to $500 billion in AI infrastructure over the next four years, aiming to bolster supply chain resilience, meet rising demand, and generate hundreds of thousands of jobs. The decision aligns with the Trump administration’s emphasis on invigorating U.S. manufacturing in the tech sector and is seen as a central element in reshaping domestic production amid evolving tariff policies on semiconductors.
