U.S. venture capital firm Andreessen Horowitz is in active discussions to invest in TikTok as part of a broader effort led by President Donald Trump to shift control of the app away from its Chinese owners. Co-founder Marc Andreessen is currently negotiating with other American investors, including Oracle and Blackstone, to add new capital and buy out TikTok’s Chinese investors before the imminent April 5 deadline.

According to reports from the Financial Times and Reuters dated April 1, this proposal has emerged as the leading option to secure TikTok’s U.S. operations and address national security concerns. The plan aims to consolidate the largest non-Chinese stakes in ByteDance, marking a significant move toward transferring control of the app to U.S.-based entities and safeguarding American interests in the technology sector.
