On March 27, the Spanish football federation confirmed that the rescheduled LaLiga match between Barcelona and Osasuna will proceed as planned. The game was initially postponed on March 8 following the tragic death of Barcelona’s club doctor, Carles Minarro Garcia. Both clubs had appealed to further delay the fixture, citing different concerns.
Barcelona argued that key players including Raphinha and Ronald Araujo would not get sufficient rest after recent international duties, while Osasuna pointed to a congested schedule — notably with a match against Athletic Bilbao set just two days later. In response to the appeals, the federation also rescheduled Osasuna’s subsequent match against Athletic Bilbao to March 30. These decisions highlight the challenges clubs face in balancing player welfare with a demanding fixture list, as Barcelona battles for the top spot in LaLiga alongside Real Madrid.
