Retym, a chip startup, has secured $75 million in a Series D funding round led by Spark Capital, bringing its total funding to $180 million this year. The company is focused on developing advanced digital signal processing (DSP) chips designed to improve data transmission between thousands of interconnected chips in AI data centers. The chips, optimized for transmission ranges between 30 to 40 kilometers (with overall capabilities from 10 to 120 kilometers), employ advanced modulation to maintain data integrity and are manufactured using Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing Co.'s five-nanometer process.
The investment, confirmed by a Reuters report on March 31, 2025, supports Retym’s goal of launching its first product later this year. Supplemental research also highlights the company’s background as an Israeli semiconductor startup with a focus on disruptive AI and optical networking technologies, further underscoring its potential impact on data centers and telecommunications industries.
