San Diego State University’s Aztecs basketball team looks to rebound from a challenging season with significant roster enhancements. The 7-foot redshirt freshman Magoon Gwath has committed to returning for the next season, reinforcing the team’s backbone. Gwath’s performance has been notable, earning him Mountain West Freshman of the Week honors as of February 17 and impressive career highs, including a standout game in December against Fresno State.

In addition to Gwath's return, SDSU secured commitments from two important transfers: point guard Sean Newman Jr. from Louisiana Tech and 6'9" forward Jeremiah Oden, who brings experience from his stints at Wyoming and DePaul. These strategic moves come as the team adapts to the evolving landscape of college basketball in the NIL era, setting the stage for a promising season ahead.
