The UK Government has announced the second edition of the Manchester Prize, a competition aimed at accelerating the country’s transition through AI innovations. This initiative, managed by the Department for Science, Innovation and Technology, focuses on UK-led breakthroughs that use artificial intelligence for public good, with a particular emphasis on solutions for Clean Energy Systems.

Launched in November 2024, the second round builds on the Prize’s 2023 debut and underscores the government’s decade-long commitment to cutting-edge technological advancements. Ten finalists are expected to be named in spring 2025, with top innovators potentially competing for a grand prize of £1 million in early 2026.
