RusKhimAlyans, a subsidiary of state-owned Gazprom, is recruiting for 170 positions at its expansive Ust-Luga gas processing and chemical complex. The new facility, which began construction in 2021, is designed to process 45 billion cubic meters of natural gas annually while producing 13 million metric tons of LNG, alongside significant volumes of ethane and LPG. The gas processing line is expected to be operational by 2026, with the LNG plant set to launch in 2027.
Despite delays caused by the withdrawal of key Western companies following the Ukraine conflict in 2022 and ensuing legal disputes, the project is progressing. Recent reports (including Reuters on April 4, 2025) note that the venture is also looking to diversify its partnerships—potentially involving Chinese collaborators—and has attracted financial attention from Russian sources such as the National Wealth Fund, which has proposed substantial co-financing. Meanwhile, U.S. sanctions, including the designation of RusKhimAlyans on the "Specially Designated Nationals" list, continue to complicate Russia’s strategic ambitions in the global LNG market.
