Gaza is in crisis as the Red Cross warns that hospital supplies will be exhausted soon. The dire situation, worsened by a blockade and ongoing conflict, has spurred calls for an immediate ceasefire.

The president of the International Committee of the Red Cross, Mirjana Spoljaric, described the situation in Gaza on April 11, 2025, as "hell on earth," warning that the field hospital is set to run out of critical supplies within two weeks. Since aid trucks were blocked on March 2, the region has seen a steady erosion of essential medical resources, with only 22 of 36 hospitals remaining minimally functional, and dwindling stocks of antibiotics and blood bags adding to the peril.

In addition to the medical crisis, recent reports have raised grave concerns over the safety of humanitarian workers. A mass grave containing 15 aid workers — including eight from the Palestinian Red Crescent — was discovered, spurring intensified calls for an immediate ceasefire. The ongoing military conflict that erupted in October 2023, following a deadly Hamas raid, has already claimed tens of thousands of Palestinian lives and left large parts of Gaza devastated, further complicating efforts to deliver much-needed aid.
