WNBA Debuts 'Rivals Week' Featuring Caitlin Clark vs. Angel Reese

The WNBA has announced its inaugural ‘Rivals Week’ for the 2025 season, scheduled from August 9 to 17. The spotlight matchup will feature Caitlin Clark of the Indiana Fever going head-to-head with Angel Reese of the Chicago Sky. Clark, the 2024 No. 1 overall draft pick and Rookie of the Year, boasts a 3-1 regular season record against Reese’s team.

Additional marquee contests are set for the week, with rematches such as the New York Liberty taking on the Minnesota Lynx and Atlanta Dream’s Brittney Griner facing her former team, the Phoenix Mercury. Other highlights include a new rivalry in California as the Golden State Valkyries host the Los Angeles Sparks, and the Fever will also meet the Dallas Wings, who are expected to draft UConn star Paige Bueckers. With Ally Financial sponsoring the event, the league is taking another big step in promoting women’s sports on a national stage.
