Intel to Spin Off Its Venture Capital Arm into a Standalone Company

Intel Corp announced on January 14, 2025, that it will spin off its venture capital and investment arm, Intel Capital, into an independent company expected to commence operations in the latter half of 2025. In this move, the current Intel Capital team will transition to the new entity, while Intel continues to act as an anchor investor.

This strategic separation is intended to enhance overall business efficiency and provide Intel Capital with access to additional external capital sources. Established in 1991 and managing over $5 billion in assets, Intel Capital will leverage its history and recent investments—including a $36 million early-stage funding round for Orchid Security—to expand its franchise within the tech ecosystem.
