In response to U.S. President Donald Trump's new tariffs, Chinese state media have embraced technology and creativity as tools of economic protest. On April 3, CGTN released a music video titled "Look What You Taxed Us Through," featuring AI-generated vocals that sharply criticize tariffs by highlighting rising consumer prices and economic hardship in the United States.

New China TV followed with the premiere of a sci-fi short film called "T.A.R.I.F.F." in which a robot, operating under the directive of a U.S. official, enacts aggressive tariffs that trigger economic disruption and eventual self-destruction. Complemented by a video from China’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs contrasting a world divided by tariffs with one of global solidarity, these media initiatives reiterate Beijing’s strong opposition to escalating trade tensions and signal its readiness to continue retaliatory measures in the ongoing trade war.
