MTN Group, Africa’s largest mobile operator, announced on April 7, 2025, its partnership with UK-based Synamedia to develop a cutting-edge streaming platform. The service, targeting both mobile and fibre subscribers across Africa, will provide a mix of linear TV and video-on-demand content while supporting multiple monetization models including subscriptions and ad-driven revenue.
Serving 291 million customers in 16 countries, the new platform is set to position MTN against established regional services and international competitors. This strategic collaboration highlights MTN's commitment to enhancing digital entertainment across the continent with innovative technology and expansive content offerings.
