The New Orleans Pelicans have fired Executive Vice President of Basketball Operations David Griffin following a disappointing season marked by 61 losses. Owner Gayle Benson announced the decision on April 14, 2025, leaving the future of head coach Willie Green uncertain as the team struggled to secure a playoff berth.

During Griffin's tenure since April 2019, the franchise posted a 209-263 record and made only two playoff appearances. Despite high early expectations—including his previous success with the 2015-16 championship Cleveland Cavaliers and drafting Zion Williamson as the No. 1 pick—Griffin's period with the Pelicans was marred by persistent injuries and limited availability of key players.
