With spring in full swing, the University of Arkansas’ Office of Entrepreneurship and Innovation (OEI) is bolstering the regional entrepreneurial ecosystem. The Greenhouse Outdoor Recreation Program has kicked off a 12‑week spring program featuring eight startups focused on outdoor recreation. Participants are set to refine their business strategies for commercialization as they leverage training, mentoring, and non-dilutive seed funding opportunities. This initiative reinforces the region’s quest to diversify its economy while embracing emerging outdoor and recreational trends.
In addition to the startup incubation efforts, OEI has announced that 12 teams will compete in the Heartland Challenge from April 3‑5 at the Ledger in Bentonville, with a total prize pool of $100,000. This event, which simulates venture capital engagement for high‑growth enterprises, builds on a tradition of fostering innovation and entrepreneurship in Arkansas, ensuring that both the local economy and the startup community continue to thrive.
