Security teams across the industry are increasingly turning to agentic AI to automate responses to cyber threats. Unlike traditional chatbots that only respond to prompts, these systems can execute pre-approved actions such as automatic triage of notifications, easing the burden of repetitive tasks. As of March 2025, major players like Microsoft and CrowdStrike have integrated agentic AI into their security platforms.

Microsoft, for instance, announced on March 24, 2025, plans to roll out 11 AI agents within its security-focused Copilot, aiming to reduce burnout among cybersecurity professionals. Similarly, CrowdStrike unveiled innovations like Charlotte AI Detection Triage in February 2025 and further enhanced its capabilities in mid-March via a collaboration with NVIDIA, setting a new standard for automated security operations. These advancements come as the cybersecurity sector grapples with a shortage of skilled workers and an escalating volume of alerts.
