Warner Bros Discovery announced on February 26, 2025, that its streaming service, Max, will now include sports and news content at no extra cost for its premium and standard subscribers in the U.S. The move comes after the company scrapped an earlier plan to charge $9.99 per month for a separate premium sports tier due to technical challenges.
In addition, CNN Max—a dedicated news and sports streaming feed—will no longer be available on the basic ad-supported plan starting March 30. This decision is part of Warner Bros Discovery's broader strategy to attract more users amid the ongoing shift from cable TV to streaming platforms while also appealing to advertisers in a competitive market.
