On Saturday, April 5, 2025, Philadelphia will host a large 'Hands Off!' National Day of Action protest that draws over 6,000 participants. The rally will begin at City Hall and proceed to Independence Mall, featuring speeches from local leaders including Rep. Brendan Boyle and Councilmember Rue Landau. Protesters will demonstrate against a series of Trump administration policies, such as cuts to Social Security, federal layoffs, rollbacks in consumer protection, anti-immigration measures, and attacks on transgender rights.
The Philadelphia event is part of a broader national mobilization featuring more than 1,100 demonstrations across all 50 states, with approximately 250,000 RSVPs registered. Coordinated efforts through various local and national groups underscore the importance of the protest, which organizers say could be the largest single-day demonstration since Trump’s second-term inauguration.
